Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Technology is a research-based doctoral level degree course. Duration of this course three years which is divided into six semester. In this course, students are given theoretical and practical knowledge related to engineering and technology. The PhD Engineering and Technology course includes topics such as Foundation of Computing, Software Systems, Formal Methods for Program Correction, Hoare Logic, etc. Candidates who have completed the post graduation in the field of Computer Science are considered eligible for Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology. Eligible candidates must appear before an entrance examination and then the counselling round before getting their admissions done in a particular college in Ph.D. Engineering and Technology course. The admission procedure for every college is entrance based. Different entrance exams conducted for admission to PhD in Engineering and Technology are GATE, SLET, TIFR GS, NET JRF etc. Once the Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology program is completed, there are numerous job and career options such as doing your own research in a specific topic or becoming a lecturer in Universities and many more. The annual salary packages a scholar can expect ranges from INR 4 LPA- INR 18 LPA.
