Dental or dentistry is a specialization or branch of medical sciences, that deals with oral health. Dental courses can be referred to as the study of teeth, gums and other organs in the mouth. The dental study helps students to identify the toothache problem and how to cure it through treatment. To become a dentist, most students pursue a bachelor's or master's degree in this discipline and go into private practice or work in public healthcare centers and hospitals. The BDS is a 5 year (4 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme.
