The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Jamia Hamdard was established in 1989 to promote education through open and distance learning system. Its flexible and innovative methods of education to ensure ‘independent learning’ to anyone, anytime and anywhere.
There has been a significant growth in the area of online education around the world. Online Learning (OL) mode of education has been recognized as one of the effective tools of educationally empowering those sections of the society, which could not afford to join the formal on-campus education due to various reasons.
Jamia Hamdard’s study programmes under OL are selective and customized to meet the learning requirements of knowledge seekers as well as to ensure that they learn at their own pace and convenience. Within the financial means of University, due care has been taken to keep the cost of education low, so that educationally backward sections can take advantage of University’s programmes through OL mode.

About the Scholarship:-
Jamia Hamdard University allocates the budget under the Students' Aid Fund (SAF), which is largely meant for the financial assistance of various needy students. Additionally, a number of scholarships/fellowships are awarded to various undergraduate and postgraduate students.

However, according to Jamia Hamdard course-wise NIRF reports 2024, the median package offered during Jamia Hamdard BTech placements 2023 stood at INR 5.30 LPA. Further, the median package offered during Jamia Hamdard MBA placements 2023 stood at INR 5.52 LPA. Apart from this, 162 students were placed out of 267 students during Jamia Hamdard MBA placements 2023.
