The Navsari Zone of erstwhile GAU had attained the status of independent State Agricultural University (SAU) with the promulgation of Gujarat Agricultural Universities Act 2004 on May 1, 2004 heralding formation of Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) with Navsari as headquarter. NAU├oΓe¼Γaos jurisdiction covers seven districts of South Gujarat viz., Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dangs and Valsad. The University has made remarkable growth in its tripartite activities i.e.Education, Research and Extension Education and simultaneously also made tremendous growth in infrastructure and Human Resource Development since its inception. Navsari Agricultural University (formerly known as Gujarat Agricultural University) is a full-fledged independent State Agricultural University. Navsari Agricultural University is imparting agricultural education up to PhD level in all the established faculties of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Veterinary to develop quality agricultural professional manpower. NAU also imparts vocational education and training through diploma and certificate courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock Inspection, Bakery, Landscaping and Gardening and Fisheries through Agricultural Polytechnics and Agri-clinics for Horticulture and Agricultural Schools, LITC, Bakery, Gardner and Fisheries training centers respectively.

Scholarship Details
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP:-
NAU offers the following scholarships-
National Talent Scholarship (NTS) :
Awarded to students of other states nominated by ICAR on the basis of merit and written test @ Rs.12000/- per student per annum.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship (MCM):
Awarded by ICAR to five meritorious students in each faculty. The amount of this scholarship is Rs.2040 per annum.
Merit and Poor Merit Scholarship :
This scholarship is awarded to economically backward students by the Department of Social Welfare of the state @ Rs. 720/- student.
Post Metric Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to economically backward students (SC/ST) by the ICAR (HRD), Pusa, New-Delhi @ Rs 4350/annum/student.
