ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:-

Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha has been established by an Act No.5 of 1989 of State Legislature of Odisha as a State University vide Notification No.-HE-FE-I-B-MISC-9/2015/11605 dated 30.05.2015 and is empowered to award degrees as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC act 1956 through its own departments, its constituent Colleges and/or through its affiliated Colleges in regular mode with the approval of concerned statutary bodies/councils, wherever required.

Formerly known as the Government Women's College, Rama Devi Women’s University is a state-level university. It was established in 1964 and was entitled as a University in 2015. It is the first women's University in the state of Odisha. At present, the University has 49 women’s colleges affiliated with it. RDW University is recognised by UGC and was also awarded CPE (College with Potential for Excellence) status by UGC. RDW University offers UG, PG and PhD courses under Science, Arts and Commerce streams. It also has a placement cell that conducts the recruitment process and also provides pre-placement training to the University’s students

The campus of the University is spread across an area of 28 acres with all basic facilities, including an auditorium, a conference hall, smart classrooms, a language lab, a gym, a cafeteria, Wi-Fi, hostel facilities among others. Apart from studies, the University also focuses on co-curricular activities through its NCC and NSS camps.
