About G. M. University, Devanagere, Karnataka
GM University was created by an act of the State of Karnataka (Act No. 19 of 2023). GM University has been established with a goal to provide opportunities for higher education for all sections of Society. Though GM University is new in its name but has a history of more than 20 years in higher education. GM Institute of Technology (GMIT), a well-known Engineering and Technology institution which is now a part of GM university was established way back in 2001. GMIT is known for its quality education and nurturing of young talents. To extend the portfolio of offerings and to meet 21st Century education needs GMU was established. GMU aims to be a premier university in the country and in the globe. GMU has a unique education model to provide holistic education to its students and to meet 21st Century Education Challenges.
The primary goal of higher education is to develop quality human resources to contribute to scientific, technological, healthcare, economic and social development to achieve the sustainable and developmental goals of our nation and communities in general. The educational institutions develop quality human resources imparting required education, competencies, technical skills, and life skills to the student communities and train them to be able to contribute to the socio-economic development of Society. Education not only plays a major role in the overall development of a nation but moulds an individual to be a global citizen.

Srishyla Education Trust-Davanagere is a charitable trust funding higher education.
Sri. G. Mallikarjunappa, a well-known philanthropist, social visionary, and statesman, the member of parliament hailing from Chitradurga district of Karnataka state founded the Shrishyla Education Trust in 2000, to achieve his great desire to provide education to the students of middle-part of Karnataka. The Shrishyla Education Trust has established several Schools and Colleges under the aegis of this trust, known as GM Group Institutions. During the year, 2023 Srishyla Education Trust established “GM University” under act 19 of 2023 of the state of Karnataka, India.

Scholarship Details
Students are hereby informed to apply for various scholarships offered by Government of Karnataka and Government of India (GOI) National Scholarship/AICTE and other funded scholarships based on their eligibility criteria.
1. Guidelines to apply for SSP scholarship (Sponsored by Karnataka state government)
- Students can apply by logging to ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in.
- The data such as Name, date of birth and Parent’s name should be correct as per the Aadhar card.
- The students should have valid Income Certificate in the name of the student by mentioning the total family income.
- Student’s Bank Account must be seeded to Aadhar card (Through NPCI mapping)
- Minority students have to apply first in National scholarship and get NSP ID before applying in SSP.
- Students admitted directly and who is not having counselling number will be treated as management quota.
- The students who have applied last year they can renew the same by logging to SSP portal by furnishing the required data without fail in order to receive the scholarship this year.

- Student's Aadhar Number and Name as in Aadhar
- Student's Mobile Number
- Student's E-mail I.D
- Student's SSLC Registration No
- Caste and Income Certificate RD Number/s in the name of the student.
- UDID Identification Number if the student is disabled
- District, taluk, assembly constituency and address of the student residence.
- Students' University/College Registration Number
- E-Attestation number of related documents (if applicable)

Key Achievements
The Campus is spread across 57 acres of land and located on Poona-Bangalore Highway adjoining District Commissioner’s Office. The campus is around 4 km distance from Davanagere City Centre. University buses ply at regular intervals from city centre to the Campus.
The Campus is green and serene. On-campus, there are academic buildings, Library building, Sports Grounds, separate hostels for boys and girls, faculty quarters and cafeteria with almost a million square feet of built-up area. There are more than 6000 students studying undergraduate and postgraduate programs with more than 200 faculty members involved in teaching and research and, there are around 150 support staff. The campus is always buzzing with student activities.
