The ICFAI University, Raipur was established in 2011 through an Act of Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) Act, 2005 (No 13 of 2005) and Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) (Amendment) Act, 2006 vide notification published in the Chhattisgarh State Gazette on 25 March 2011.

- The University campus is spread over 30 acres of land. It is located at Kumhari, District-Durg.

Key Achievements
ICFAI University has been awarded the Pan India Educational Excellence Award in the category of “Leading Private University in India” for Business Management, Technology and Law Courses instituted by the Brands Academy, New Delhi.
The prestigious award was presented by Indian Chess Grandmaster and former World Chess Champion Mr Vishwanathan Anand, in a gala Award Ceremony held at Mumbai on 31st May 2014.
To receive the award Mr Sudhakar Rao, Director, Branding, ICFAI Group and Dr S P Gupta, one of the Vice Chancellors in ICFAI Group represented the Institute. While receiving the award Mr Sudhakar Rao thanked the Brands Academy and exulted that it has been presented by non other than Grand Master Viswanathan Anand. He further said “ICFAI is one of the largest groups of Universities in India and therefore truly deserves this recognition.”
- The ICFAI University, Raipur has been established under Section 9(2) of the Chhatisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operations) Act 2005 and notified on March 25, 2011.
- The University is empowered by UGC to award degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act, 1956.
- The University accredited with NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) for B.Ed programs.
- The University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi.
- The University is accredited with Bar Council of India for Law Programs.
Placement Records & Support
- The training and placement wing at the University looks after the training and placement activities on a full-time and continuous basis.
- Staffed by senior professionals and placement executives, the team initiates and maintains the university-industry dialogue and manages the summer internship program and final placement activities.
- The team evaluates student performance levels and ensures relevant preparation for their corporate placements.
- Working both at the supply and demand sides of the placement, the team plays the vital intermediary role of matching academic excellence and industry expectations.
